President of the Vietnam Women’s Union visits Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK)

At the invitation of the Korean Democratic Women’s Union, Mme Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa, member of the Vietnam Party Central Committee, president of the Vietnam Women’s Union led the Vietnamese Women’s delegation to pay a friendship visit to Korea during 23-27 Feb, 2009.

During the visit to Korea, the delegation was warmly received by Mr. Kim Jong Rin, Secretary of the Korean Workers’ Party. The delegation had a cordial meeting with the Korean Democratic Women’s Union; visited the homeland of the great leader Kim Il Sung and paid tribute to His Mausoleum; visited the junior school and obstetrical and gynaecological Hospital in Pyongyang; Migok cooperative Farm and other economic and cultural establishments in Korea.

 

At the meeting, the two sides highly value the great participation and contribution of the women to the development in the two respective countries, as well as the substantial roles played by VWU and KDWU in educating and promoting their members in the countries to bring into full play the patriotic spirit, well implement the policies of the Party and State, thus contributing to the development of the strong and prosperous countries. Two sides also discussed orientation for cooperation in the coming years. The visit is successful to contribute to uplift the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
