National team to prepare for Asian Championship Posted: Mar 04,2009
The national team will be called up from May 24 and later join a training session in Japan from June 15-25 to prepare for the second qualifying round of the Asian Women's Football Championship, due to be held in July, 2009.
According to the official draw, Vietnam will be in group C with Hong Kong (China) and the third team in the first qualifying round.
Group A includes Chinese Taipei, Myanmar and the first round's top team while group B will see competitions among Thailand, Iran and the first round's second team.
Nine teams will compete on a round robin basis to select three top teams in each group qualified for the finals together with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, China, Japan, Australia and the Republic of Korea.
The first qualifying round will be held from April 25 to May 3, 2009 in Kuala Lumpur with the participation of Bangladesh, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives and Palestine.
