Domestic Violence Prevention and Control and Supporting women in politics and economic development ... are important issues discussed during the meeting of VWU First Vice President Hoang Thi Ai Nhien and the German parliamentarians.
On the 10th of May, at the VWU office, First Vice President Hoang Thi Ai Nhien had a meeting with the 24-member delegation of of the National Assembly's Committee for Social Affairs, Consumer Protection, Equality and integration of the Sachsen State, the Federal Republic of Germany. At the meeting, Ms. Hoang Thi Ai Nhien introduced an overview of the VWU and briefed informatione successes of the 12th National Congress of Vietnamese Women, emphasizing the task on communication and information, mobilization and support of a comprehensive development for women; on buliding a happy family and related solutions; and supporting women for business start-up and economic development.
German parliamentarians expressed their attentionto the VWU activities, especially its strong voice in protecting the women’s rights and interestsand protecting themfrom the risk of domestic violence as well. They are also very concerned about women's participation and representation in politics, gender mainstreaming in policy, legislation, female migrant workers, single mothers...
German parliamentarians show much interest in the development of TYM, a VWU belonging unit that has received support from the German Savings BanksFoundation for InternationalCooperation (SBFIC) since 2005. In addition to supporting TYM and VWU more than 2 million Euros for their activities, SBFIC also provides technical and financial support to TYM by sending long-term and short-term experts, training activities, and human resource development.
