  • Vietnam Women's Museum receives portrait paintings of female journalists

    The Vietnam Women's Museum held a ceremony to receive artifacts and hold an exchange programme with the theme "Female journalists" with author and journalist Huynh Dung Nhan on June 20.
  • Japanese cultural event for children underway in Hanoi

    A Japanese cultural event is being held at the Vietnam Women’s Museum in downtown Hanoi for kids to mark International Children’s Day (June 1) and the start of the summer vacation.
  • Two female scientists receive Kovalevskaia Award 2021

    A ceremony was held on May 16 to honour two female Vietnamese scientists with the Kovalevskaia Award 2021 for their excellent contributions to scientific research.
  • Consultation workshop to introduce gender-responsive manual of National Target Programme (NTP) on socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas

    A hybrid consultation Workshop on monitoring gender mainstreaming in the NTP on socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas was organized on March 31 in Hanoi and other provinces/cities.
  • Turning wastes into cash for raising scholarship fund and supporting women in business start-up

    In response to “Building the family of 5 Without-s and 3 Clean-s” campaign and movement against plastic wastes, the Women's Union (WU) of Tran Van Thoi district (Ca Mau province) has implemented 2 practical and highly efficient models, not only helping WU members and women raise their awareness of environmental protection, but also helping women overcome their disadvantaged backgrounds, women start up, and their children receive scholarships to go to school.
  • VWU presents 20 maces of gold to medical workers at mass wedding

    On the evening of February 20, 2022, in Ho Chi Minh City, 175 Military Hospital held a cultural program entitled “Pulse of life” and a wedding ceremony for 20 couples of medical staff to show high appreciation to frontline forces for their great efforts in the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control.
  • Hoa Binh province: 30 sets of computers and thousands of warm clothes gifted to students

    Responding to the program "Internet and computers for children" launched by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Tiger in 2022, the Women's Union and Youth Union of Hoa Binh Public Security implemented the program of giving computers and warm clothes to poor children in mountainous areas.
  • VWU rewards VND 500 million for Viet Nam women's national football team

    On the afternoon of February 6, right after the Viet Nam women's national football team beat the Chinese Taipei with 2-1 score, winning a ticket to the Women's World Cup, the Vietnam Women’s Union rewarded VND 500 million (~22,000 USD) for the team.
  • Kon Tum Women’s Union launching the 2022 Program "Supporting women in border areas”

    The Kon Tum Provincial Women's Union in collaboration with the Provincial Border Guards, the Women's Unions of Ben Tre, Dong Nai and Hanoi as well as Ben Tre Border Guards launched the 2022 program "Supporting women in border areas" in 04 border communes in Dak Glei and Ngoc Hoi districts. A total fund of over 900 million VND was mobilized for this launching.

    In the atmosphere of approaching Vietnamese Traditional New Year (Tet), the Women's Unions at all levels have been organizing many practical and meaningful activities to care for and encourage disadvantaged women and children nationwide especially those affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.
  • “Patron-parents” Program to support orphans due to Covid-19

    In response to the call of the Vietnamese Party and State leaders on the Covid-19 pandemic prevention and VWU’s “Million gifts of love” program – providing social protection for women and children affected by COVID-19, the VWU Presidium has recently issued a plan to implement the “Patron-parents” Program to support orphans, who lost their parents due to the pandemic.
  • “Millions of affection gifts” fund-raising reaching over USD 9.6 million

    As of January 13, 2022, the program "Million affection gifts" launched by the Vietnam Women's Union has mobilized a total fund of over USD 9.6 million, equivalent to nearly 739,000 gift packs for women and children heavily affected by epidemics and natural disasters. The affection gifts have been given to the needy women, children and pandemics frontline forces.
  • TYM actively contributes to the implementation of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy

    Microfinance (MF) has been confirmed as an important tool in poverty reduction in our country. With nearly 30 years of operation in the MF, Tinh Thuong Microfinance Organization (TYM) has contributed significantly to reducing poverty as well as to promoting gender equality in Vietnam by enhancing economic power for women. MF in general and TYM in particular have been and will make important contributions to the implementation of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy (NFIS) in Vietnam.
  • Women's Union of Phu Tho Province to help 688 households out of poverty and to support for pandemic prevention with over 13 billion VND

    The Phu Tho WU recently holds a conference to review 2021’s works & women's movement and deploy tasks for the year 2022.
  • Female migrant workers in Hanoi receive gifts

    As many as 480 female migrant workers living in difficult circumstances received gifts worth 500,000 VND each during a programme held in Hanoi on September 18.
  • Joining hands to prevent and combat human trafficking: “Victims’ Voices Lead the Way”

    The Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) and the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on July 30 co-organized a virtual conference “Joining hands to prevent and combat human trafficking” in response to this year’s World Day against Trafficking in Persons.
  • VWU’s Open letter for Program “Million gifts of great solidarity for the South to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic”

    On August 24, 2021, the Presidium of the Central Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) sent out an Open letter calling for donation to realize the goal “Millions of loving gifts for women and children in the South to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic”.
  • Parenting education to narrow gap in child care and protection

    On the morning of July 2, 2021, the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) in collaboration with Nam Dinh provincial Women’s Union held a consultation workshop on building a national program on parenting education and suggesting solutions to improve the quality of child care and development of children at pre-school age.
  • Safe vegetables and fruits supported for people affected by COVID-19

    During the past time, the model of safe vegetable production run by the Women's Union of Nghia Ha commune, Quang Ngai city (Quang Ngai province) has effectively supported the COVID-19 epidemic prevention.
  • Six authors in Mekong Delta presented Women's Innovation Award for initiatives to improve living environment

    On the morning of June 24, 2021, the Central VWU and the East Meets West organized the awarding ceremony of the contest "Innovative Women - Developing solutions to improve sanitation and access to safe water for climate change response and social inclusion” for 6 winners in the Mekong Delta region.

    In order to promptly support staffs and woman members in provinces/cities experiencing Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, the Vietnam Women's Union Presidium has issued a Plan to continue accelerating activities Women nationwide joining hands to fight against Covid-19.
