Along with the food kits are medical supplies (11,450 N95 masks and 1,350 personal protective equipment) for WU staff and members in the frontline anti-COVID-19 forces.

The support package is worth 2.2 billion VND, funded by the LDSC upon the Central VWU’s request. This is a timely material support and a great source of encouragement for the women and children severely affected by the pandemic, as well as WU’s staff and members engaging in COVID-19 prevention and control in the two localities.

LDSC and VWU have a long-standing relationship. Since the early 2000s, the two organizations have regularly collaborated on various humanitarian and charity programs including wheelchairs for people with disabilities; clean water and sanitation for community, and recently food kits for COVID-19 affected women and children in Bac Giang province (June 2021). These programs have contributed to improving the living condition of many people with difficulties in Vietnam, especially women and children.
