Capacity development for supporting women and girls with disabilities

The Central Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) recently held a training in Ho Chi Minh City aiming to enhance capacity for members of the network supporting for women and girls with disabilities in the South.

Attending this event were Ms. Tran Thi Huong, VWU’s Vice President, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, Director of the Action to the Community Development Center (ACDC), Mr. Chau Hoang Man, Director of Center for Social Work and Community Development Research and Consultancy (SDRC) and representatives of the provincal network, including Ben Tre, Vinh Long, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Dong Thap, Ho Chi Minh, Long An, Vinh Long ...

Through this course, the network members had have their improved knowledge and skills on gender inclusion, monitoring methodologies, revealing and managing cases of abuse against women and girls with disabilities in the community... Thus, they are being able to propose timely solutions and recommendations to protect the rights of beneficiaries.

The capacity building for the network members will foster the development for advancement, safety and connection among women with disabilities throughout the country.

This remains one of the practical activities to meet the needs of women with disabilities in different areas, contributing to effectively implement the Project target at the Prime Minister Decision No. 1190 / QD-TTg dated August 5, 2020 on the Assistance Program for people with disabilities, 2021-2030 period.
