GIPA commitment review meeting

GIPA commitment review meeting was held by GIPA project in Vietnam Women’s Museum in the morning of March 19th, to share experiences and finding solutions to promote effectively GIPA commitments addressed in GIPA National Workshop in August 2007.

Reports at the meeting pointed out though there are some advantages such as Vietnam signed GIPA commitment implementation, favorable legal environment (National Strategy o­n Preventing HIV to 2010 and Vision 2020, Law of Preventing HIV/AIDS, the 57 Instruction of the Central Communist Party Secretariat…); increasing network of PLWA, step by step enhancing capacity of PLWA …, the implementation of GIPA commitments are facing challenges, especially severe stigma and discrimination with PLWA; lack of awareness of some leaders; communication activities are not sufficient…

 

At the meeting, the participations focused o­n discussing, sharing experiences of project results, difficulties that need to be solved and work out solutions/measures to turn GIPA commitments into common principles in the whole communities.

 

In order to implement successfully GIPA commitments, VWU, as the coordinator, for the operation of GIPA project will continue activities of GIPA o­n mass media, motivating people and organizations to integrate GIPA into their activities; raising fund for developmental support groups, club of PLWA; raising awareness of leaders to get support for GIPA.
