Promoting exchange and sharing of gender equality achievements between Vietnamese and Venezuelan women

On the afternoon of July 7, Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Huong welcomed Ms. Capaya Rodríguez González, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela to visit the VWU on the occasion of her working visit to Vietnam.

At the reception, VWU’s Vice President Nguyen Thi Minh Huong expressed her delight at the good development of Venezuela - Vietnam relationship and thanked the Venezuelan government, organizations, people and women for their hospitality given to the VWU delegation during their visit to Venezuela at the end of April 2022.

The two leaders shared women’s role and situation in the two countries, focusing on women’s role in family, particularly in nurturing happy family and preserving fine traditions and culture.

Ms. Minh Huong expressed her impression at the Venezuelan women’s leadership with 31% of ministers being women. Ms. Capaya Rodríguez showed her admiration at the role and contribution of Vietnamese women to Vietnam’s development along the history.

The two leaders agreed that the women of the two countries have a lot of topics of common interests to learn from each other, such as women’s economic empowerment and women’s participation in management leadership, gender teaching in universities…

Ms. Minh Huong expressed her hope that in the coming time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Venezuela will support to strengthen connections of the women's organizations of Venezuela and Vietnam for information and experience sharing as well as further cooperation, thus promoting the understanding and relationship between women of the two countries.
