Vietnamese Women’s Chess ranks 22nd in the world

Vietnam is placed 22nd in the world women’s chess rankings with international Grand Masters and six masters and an average Elo rating of 2251, according to the World Chess Federation (FIDE).

In Asia, the Vietnamese Women’s Chess team ranks third after China and India which are among the world’s top ten countries.

In the Asian Team Chess Championship which took place in Kolkota, India in late 2009, the Vietnamese women’s team won the gold medal after defeating the host country.

China tops the world with an average Elo rating of 2481
