The Vietnam Women's Union would like to send the warmest congratulations on the 100th birthday anniversary of Moncada Heroine Melba Hernandez Rodriguez del Rey (28th July 1921 – 28th July 2021), former Member of the Cuba’s Party Central Committee, former Deputy to the Cuban National Assembly of People’s Power, former Chairwoman of the Cuban Committee for Solidarity with South Vietnam, former Ambassador of Cuba to Vietnam, former Chairwoman of the Cuban - Vietnamese Friendship Parliamentary Group, a comrade of Fidel Castro, a close friend of President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese people.
Whenever mentioning Moncada Heroine Melba Hernandez, the Vietnamese people and women are always moved by her warm feelings and great contributions to the international movement in support of Vietnam in the resistance war against the U.S, as well as the development of the special friendship and solidarity between the Party, State, people and women of the two countries.
Comrade Melba Hernandez is not only a national hero of Cuba but also a hero in the hearts of the Vietnamese people. She will always be a shining example for peace-loving nations in the world as well as Vietnamese people and women to study and follow for peace and development of the human being in general and women in particular.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Women's Union would like to send its warm greetings and express its deep sympathies to the Cuban people and women for your difficulties due to the consequences of the U.S embargo policy and the COVID-19 pandemic. The Vietnamese people and women will always stand with the Cuban people and women, support your country's development and call for the lifting of the embargo against Cuba. We believe that the beautiful Cuba under the leadership of the Cuban Communist Party will step by step overcome all challenges to stabilize and develop the country.
