Vietnam Women’s Union received the Fair Labor Association, USA
In the afternoon of May 29th 2009, Mrs. Pham Hoai Giang, VWU Presidium member, Head of the International Relations Department welcomed Mrs. HeeWon Brindle-Khym, NGO and Trade Union Coordinator of the Fair Labor Association to visit and work with VWU. -
Vice President of Vietnam Women’s Union Nguyen Thi Kim Thuy attended “Korea International Women’s Invention Forum 2009” and some activities in The Republic of Korea from 29th April to 5th May 2009
With the invitation of President of Korea Women Inventors Association (KWIA) and World Intellectual Property Organization, Mme. Nguyen Thi Kim Thuy, Vice President of Vietnam Women’s Union headed the Vietnamese women delegation to attend the 2nd Forum and Exposition: “Korea International Women’s Invention Forum 2009” in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, during 29th April – 5th May, 2009. -
Working visit to the People’s Republic of China
The Vietnam Women Union delegation headed by Mme. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh – Alternative member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Women’s Union paid a working visit to China during April 5th -10th, 2009. -
Vietnam Women’s Union signed a coordinated program “Building friendly schools and active students”
On April 22, the Ministry of Education and Training organized a signing ceremony of emulation movement “Building friendly schools and active students” for the period of 2009 – 2013 in coordination with the Vietnam Women’s Union and the Learning Promotion Association. Taking part in this ceremony are representatives of the Central Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. -
Marie Schlei Association and its contribution to Vietnamese poor women
Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) founded in 1930 is a socio-political organization which is mandated to protect the legal rights and legitimate interests of women in Vietnam. In the history of its development, particularly since DOI MOI (Renovation), VWU has taken various measures such as vocational training, loans providing, awareness raising, and technical transferring, ect. to help women in poverty alleviation for their livelihood improvement and social status enhancement. To realize its missions, besides internal resources, VWU also mobilized and made use of international support from donors (GOs and NGOs) including Marie Schlei Association (Germany).
