• Vice President Truong My Hoa attends the Global Summit on Women 2004

    At the invitation of the Global Summit on Women 2004’s organizers, Vietnam Vice President Truong My Hoa participated in the event in Seoul, Republic of Korea as an honorable chairwoman, from May 27th to 29th.
  • All China Women's Federation presents office equipment to VWU

    On 22nd April, 2004, VWU received a set of office equipment including computers, printers and speakers (valued at US$ 20,000) from All China Women's Federation through Embassy of China to Vietnam. Participating in the ceremony were Ambassador of China, representatives of the embassy, VWU vice president Truong Thi Khue and other staff.

    On April 22nd 2004, on behalf of VWU leaders, vice president Nguyen Phuong Minh presented the medal "For the cause of women’s emancipation" to Mr. Christian Vanwert, representative of the "Nord-Sud Cooperation" (Belgium) to recognize his essential contribu­tion for Vietnamese women’s advancement.

    She gave birth to nine babies, of which five died at birth. the four surviving children are either disabled or brain¬less. many years after the end of the american war the consequences of her husband's exposure to agent orange, as a soldier fighting in the war, still haunts the life of her family. the pain seems to be unbearable but somehow she still lives and strives to raise the family
