During a working visit to Switzerland and the Czech Republic in September 2026, a delegation from the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) and Tinh Thuong Microfinance Institution (TYM) held discussions with international organizations and engaged with Vietnamese women abroad to promote gender equality, women’s economic empowerment and sustainable development.

The Ho Chi Minh City Women’s Union presented ‘ao dai’ (traditional Vietnamese long gown) to Belarusian women during a cultural exchange in Minsk in mid-September, strengthening ties between the two countries.

Regarding directions for future collaboration, the Vietnamese official proposed that the two organisations continue to innovate and diversify forms of cooperation, strengthen connections between local-level chapters – particularly in border provinces, and expand exchanges among young women, female intellectuals, and businesswomen.

President of the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) Le Thi Thuy received UNICEF Representative to Vietnam Silvia Danailov on August 28 to discuss deepening bilateral cooperation for the comprehensive development of women and children.

The 12th Korea–Viet Nam Women’s Forum was held on August 19 at the National Assembly Building in Seoul under the theme “Women’s Economic Empowerment in the Digital Era: Innovation and Inclusive Growth.”

On August 11, a delegation of the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU), led by President Le Thi Thuy, paid tribute to the late Xaysomphone Phomvihane, a Politburo member and President of the Lao National Assembly, at the Lao Embassy in Hanoi.

The Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) has received 20 congratulatory messages from international partners, women’s organizations, and overseas Vietnamese women’s associations on the occasion of the 14th National Women’s Congress for the 2026–2031 term.

From April 21st – 22nd, 2025, the Vietnam Women’s Union organized a training program on “Knowledge and Skills for Implementing Resolution No. 59-NQ/TW dated January 24th, 2025 of the Politburo on International Integration in the New Context,” with the participation of more than 80 delegates from the Central Vietnam Women’s Union and Women’s Unions of 15 northern provinces and cities.

On March 24, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Huong, Vice President of the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) welcomed a delegation from the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, led by Ms. Shin Hye Kyong of the Multicultural Policy Division, to pay a visit to the headquarter of the VWU.

The Viet Nam Women’s Academy, in collaboration with the Australian People for Health, Education and Development Abroad (APHEDA), held an international scientific workshop in Ha Noi on February 9 under the theme “Enhancing Opportunities for Women Candidates to be Elected to People’s Councils at All Levels”.

On January 22, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Huong, Vice President of the Viet Nam Women’s Union (VWU) welcomed Ms. Camila María Polo Floréz, Ambassador of Colombia to Viet Nam to visit the VWU’s headquarter and held a working session to share goals and experiences in promoting gender equality.

The awards are part of the strategic partnership between the Việt Nam Women’s Union and UN Women, to create an environment conducive for gender equality, advance women’s empowerment, and end gender-based violence against women and girls in Việt Nam.

UNDP stands ready to support the Việt Nam Women’s Union in initiatives related to economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, women’s access to finance, policymaking, and gender equality.

On the afternoon of October 24, 2025, during her working visit to Vietnam, Chilean Deputy Foreign Minister Gloria De La Fuente and her delegation visited and worked with the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU).

At the invitation of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), a delegation of the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU), led by Vice President Nguyễn Thị Minh Hương, attended a training course “Capacity building for VWU on foreign affairs and international integration in Vietnam”. The program took place in Korea from October 26 to November 8, 2025, with 15 participants from the central and provincial VWU.

On November 4, 2025, Ms. Caroline Nyamayemombe, UN Women Country Representative in Vietnam, visited the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) and met with VWU President Nguyen Thi Tuyen to discuss partnership opportunities following VWU’s recent organizational restructuring.
