Tree-planting festival was launched by President Ho Chi Minh since the Spring 1965 in order to protect the environment and promote sustainable development. Since then, every spring, the Party, State and people including women of Vietnam join hands to plant trees throughout the country. -

Ao dai festival to take place throughout March in HCM City
The ninth Ao dai (traditional long dress) Festival will take place in Ho Chi Minh City throughout March with a wide range of cultural activities, the event’s organisers announced at a press conference held in HCM City on February 23. -

Leading up to International Women’s Day (March 8), the 1,983rd anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung uprising and the International Day of Happiness (March 20) the Vietnam womens Museum Womens Museum collaborated with journalist – director Mai Bong, on the morning of February 18, 2023 to open the exhibition “Dare to live a brilliant life”. -
Joining hands for advancement aspirations of ethnic minority women and children
On the evening of November 25, 2022, the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) held a communication event "Aspirations for advancement of ethnic minority women and children" and opened the Exhibition “Aspirations for Advancement” at the Vietnam Women's Museum (No. 36 Ly Thuong Kiet, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi). -
“Aspirations for Peace” marks 50th anniversary of Paris Agreement
An event named “Aspirations for Peace” was held in Hanoi on January 9 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Paris Agreement on ending the war and restoring peace in Vietnam (Paris Peace Accords) (January 27, 1973). -

Responding to “Action month for gender equality and gender-based vilence prevention 2022" from November 15 – December 15, the VWU at all levels organized various activities on gender-based violence prevention, protect women’s right protection, safety ensurance for women and children. Joining hands to fight violence against women and girls
Vietnam is seen as a country achieving many positive results in narrowing the gender gap, especially in the fields of labour, employment, healthcare, and education, which have been recognised by the international community. The country is rated among the top 10 performers worldwide in implementing the United Nations Development Goal on achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls. -
Honouring cultural values of Vietnamese Ao Dai
As part of the series of activities of the Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2022, the Hanoi Women's Union in collaboration with the Hanoi Department of Tourism organised an Ao Dai (traditional Vietnamese long dress) mass performance themed "The capital's women integrate and develop" in Hanoi on December 4. -
Hanoi launches action month for gender equality and gender-based violence prevention
The Hanoi Women’s Union on November 27 launched an action month for gender equality and gender-based violence prevention, under the theme “Ensuring social security, increasing empowerment and creating opportunities for women and girls to realise gender equality and eliminate gender-based violence”. -
The Center for women and development promotes the implementation of project 8 aimed at disadvantaged women
From October 20 to October 22, 2022, within the framework of Project 8 "Implementing gender equality and solving urgent issues for women and children", the Center for Women and Development (CWD) chaired and coordinated with Thai Nguyen Women's Union to organize the Fair "Connecting product consumption for women in ethnic minority and mountainous areas" and the Workshop on Connecting Livelihood Support Networks for Disadvantaged Women, and Women at high risk of being trafficked and returned. -

Based on the fruitful results of their cooperation in past years, the Vietnam Women's Union and Nestlé Vietnam signed a strategic cooperation agreement for the period of 2022 - 2027 to continue to implement a nationwide programme named "Nestlé accompanies women" in Hanoi on November 4. -
“Happy Crescent Moon” honoring exemplary disabled couples
On the evening of October 11, in Hanoi, the Association for the Support of Vietnamese Handicapped and Orphans (ASVHO), the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and The Vietnam National Assembly Television jointly organized the 4th "Happiness for disabled couple" with the theme of “Happy Crescent Moon”. The program took place in a warm and emotional atmosphere, aiming to honor the love and marriage of couples with disabilities. -
Project promotes financial inclusion for ethnic minority women
A project titled "Reach to Excel: Promoting Financial Inclusion for Ethnic Minority Women" has supported the development of more than 500 self-managed village credit savings groups (VSLA) with more than 11,000 women participating in savings and small-scale lending. -

In response to “Building the family of 5 Without-s and 3 Clean-s” campaign and movement against plastic wastes, the Women's Union (WU) of Tran Van Thoi district (Ca Mau province) has implemented 2 practical and highly efficient models, not only helping WU members and women raise their awareness of environmental protection, but also helping women overcome their disadvantaged backgrounds, women start up, and their children receive scholarships to go to school. -
Hoa Binh province: 30 sets of computers and thousands of warm clothes gifted to students
Responding to the program "Internet and computers for children" launched by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Tiger in 2022, the Women's Union and Youth Union of Hoa Binh Public Security implemented the program of giving computers and warm clothes to poor children in mountainous areas. -
VWU rewards VND 500 million for Viet Nam women's national football team
On the afternoon of February 6, right after the Viet Nam women's national football team beat the Chinese Taipei with 2-1 score, winning a ticket to the Women's World Cup, the Vietnam Women’s Union rewarded VND 500 million (~22,000 USD) for the team. -
Kon Tum Women’s Union launching the 2022 Program "Supporting women in border areas”
The Kon Tum Provincial Women's Union in collaboration with the Provincial Border Guards, the Women's Unions of Ben Tre, Dong Nai and Hanoi as well as Ben Tre Border Guards launched the 2022 program "Supporting women in border areas" in 04 border communes in Dak Glei and Ngoc Hoi districts. “Patron-parents” Program to support orphans due to Covid-19
In response to the call of the Vietnamese Party and State leaders on the Covid-19 pandemic prevention and VWU’s “Million gifts of love” program – providing social protection for women and children affected by COVID-19, the VWU Presidium has recently issued a plan to implement the “Patron-parents” Program to support orphans, who lost their parents due to the pandemic. -
“Millions of affection gifts” fund-raising reaching over USD 9.6 million
As of January 13, 2022, the program "Million affection gifts" launched by the Vietnam Women's Union has mobilized a total fund of over USD 9.6 million, equivalent to nearly 739,000 gift packs for women and children heavily affected by epidemics and natural disasters. The affection gifts have been given to the needy women, children and pandemics frontline forces. -
TYM actively contributes to the implementation of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy
Microfinance (MF) has been confirmed as an important tool in poverty reduction in our country. With nearly 30 years of operation in the MF, Tinh Thuong Microfinance Organization (TYM) has contributed significantly to reducing poverty as well as to promoting gender equality in Vietnam by enhancing economic power for women. MF in general and TYM in particular have been and will make important contributions to the implementation of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy (NFIS) in Vietnam. -

Female migrant workers in Hanoi receive gifts
As many as 480 female migrant workers living in difficult circumstances received gifts worth 500,000 VND each during a programme held in Hanoi on September 18.
