77 billion VND to Support Returned - Trafficked Women and Children
This project was presented at the Conference on National Social Evil Prevention held by MOLISA in Da Lat recently. The objective of the project aims to help returned - trafficked women and children integrate into the community by poverty reduction policy, loans, professional training, job creation, re-illiterate prevention and medical treatment to name a few.
According to incomplete statistics from the Border Guard High Command (Ministry of Defense), there are no specific figures of Vietnamese trafficked women and children (through trails, border gate and boundary) at the moment. But it is estimated that around 10,000 women and children are returned to Vietnam in every form with most having not received any consideration. Meanwhile, all of victims live in rural, remote and off road areas with low levels of education, unstable job prospects and generally difficult circumstances.
