Moreover, she is a dynamic and hardworking woman. She is Dao Thi Xuan Huong – A head of Phu Huong Mushroom Growing and Producing Cooperative, Tuy Hoa city, Phu Yen province, “Enriching myself is enriching the country”.
She said “At first I only grew straw mushroom to earn more income for my family. After that I saw a potential in the mushroom market because all kinds of mushroom are consumed in large quantities.”
From the year 2000, Mrs. Huong mobilized 7 households to produce mushroom. With the products sold in quantities at the market, she thought it necessary to establish a cooperative with a specific address in order for customers to make contact and contribute financially to the expansion of production aiming to increase the income for poor members. In 2001, she went to the Mushroom Production Center and Thien Tan Mushroom Growing Company in Ha Noi to study and learn from experience. At the end of the year, she successfully produced Linh Chi mushroom (a valuable medicinal mushroom). In 2002, Phu Huong Mushroom Growing and Producing Cooperative was established officially in Phu Lam Ward, Tuy Hoa City with a charter capital of 20 million VND. There were 7 participants and she was elected the head of the cooperative.
All kinds of mushroom produced by Phu Huong Cooperative are welcome by comsumers. Co-op members can earn from 1 to 1.2 million VND/month. Except for producing mushroom, Phu Huong Cooperative is a prestigious address of supplying mushroom mould for many units in central provinces such as Khanh Hoa, Binh Dinh, Gia Lai, Dac Lac.
As the cooperative could produce mushroom mould, many units in Binh Dinh and Hue invited the head of the co-op to transfer the technology of producing Linh Chi mushroom and mushroom mould. It was a great honor because she hadn’t been trained professionally before. Being a dynamic woman in the market, her cooperative is one of the collective economic units introduced in the website of Phu Yen Cooperative Alliance in order to promote business, market products and seek customers. For her, the main purpose is to popularize material sources and the ability to grow main mushrooms in Phu Yen province such as straw mushroom, peziza, abalone and Linh Chi mushroom. At present, she is expecting to expand the production scale and develop province-wide straw mushroom production for export.
