He placed special emphasis on the humanitarian "Patron-parents" program, launched by the Vietnam Women’s Union during the COVID-19 pandemic. The program has been wholeheartedly implemented by women in border guard units across provinces, who have taken on the role of mothers with genuine care and love. "I hope this meaningful and compassionate program continues to expand and reach more officers and soldiers across the entire force," Lieutenant General Tuấn stated.

Leading by example, the Political Commissar pledged to contribute two million VND per month from his salary to join hands with the Đắk Nông Border Guard Women’s Union in sponsoring an orphaned child until the child turns 18.

25 exemplary female Border Guard officers recognized for their achievements

Responding to the "Accompanying women in border areas" program, jointly launched by the Vietnam Women’s Union and the Border Guard Command, 100% of grassroots women’s unions in the force have actively implemented a variety of impactful activities. These initiatives have mobilized broad community support and engagement. Over the past five years, Border Guard women - alongside their fellow officers - have provided more than 6.5 million breeding animals, 4.9 billion VND in loans, and 850 livelihood models to help disadvantaged women improve their economic conditions. They have also built 872 “Affection houses” and donated over 5,000 gifts and 7,000 scholarships to poor ethnic minority schoolgirls.
