Combination of photos and paintings on display

Paintings which are made with photos on children are unique works by painter Nguyen Phep and photographer Le Thi Phuoc.

Painter Nguyen Phep had the idea of the paintings just after he met his old friend, photographer Le Thi Phuoc, who owns  thousands of pictures o­n children. She has followed the career for 20 years.

Having known that she had been bearing an incurable disease, she wanted to organise her last exhibition to display thousands of “angels” taken by herself. After thinking for many days and nights, Nguyen Phep decided to conjoin pictures into paintings. The two artists have spent nearly o­ne year o­n the work.

The series consist of 8 paintings. Among them, there are seven paintings with the size of  1.4 metres x 2,5 metres each, “Children of the Fairy and the Dragon”, “The Happiness”, “Mother’s Heart”, “The Couples”, “Vietnamese Mother”, “The North-The Central and The South” and “The Swings”. Each painting was made with 3,000 photos of children.


The eighth painting is the biggest with the size of 2.5 metres x 30 metres. The painting feature the two impressive children of the Vietnam history, Thanh Giong (Saint Giong) and Dinh Bo Linh.


The series of colossal paintings were auctioned to support the victim’s family of typhoon Chanchu.
