Delegates at the 14th National Women’s Congress pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh The delegates expressed profound respect and deep gratitude for President Ho Chi Minh’s immense contributions to the revolutionary cause and to the advancement of Vietnamese women.
On behalf of millions of members and women across the country, the delegation pledged to uphold the fine traditions of Vietnamese women and to strive to achieve the goals set by the 14th National Women’s Congress, thereby contributing to a more prosperous, civilised, and happy nation.
The congress is being held on June 17–18, with 789 delegates representing various social strata, ethnic groups, religions, and professions from across the country.
The congress discussed a range of issues, including reforming the operations of the Women’s Union during its opening session on the morning of June 17, cultivating the image of Vietnamese women in the new era, and strengthening the role of women in economic development and in preserving Vietnamese family values.
During the two-day event, the congress will review the outcomes of women’s movements and the Women’s Union’s activities from the previous term and set out directions for the Union’s work and the women’s movement over the next five years.
