Joint Program on promoting culture, family, sports and tourism activities signed
According to the VWU’s report, 43 out of 63 provinces and cities have been in coordination with Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to develop and conduct the plan of implementing joint program with various contents, such as: Organizing communication activities in response to the International Day of Happiness, Vietnamese Family Day and National Action Month on Gender Equality and Prevention of Domestic Violence, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women…The Prevention of Domestic Violence is promoted by the women’s union at al levels through activities including communication, meetings, competitions, seminars, forums… in order to encourage their members and women in general to follow the Party and State’s policies, regulations and laws particularly on family development.
According to the Joint program signed for the period of 2018-2022, 19 contents in the fields of culture, family, sports and tourism will be conducted by the two agencies. The motto is to select the core tasks of each field to implement the program efficiently.
The VWU Vice President Tran Thi Huong said that: Building happy family is one of three key programs of the VWU from now until 2022. She expected that the joint program will help realize many family-related targets that the VWU set out in its current term; besides, it will also contribute to accomplishing some directions of the Party’s Secretariat on the work of building family in the period of industrialization and modernization as well as better implementing the VWU’s ongoing projects to deal with social issues relating to women and children..
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mrs. Trinh Thi Thuy, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, affirmed that the joint program was implemented effectively at 43 provinces and cities in 2017 thanks to the unified direction from the central to local levels, as well as close and responsible cooperation of the two agencies. This 5-year joint program requires more precise participation of the related ministries and localities. With the closer involvement of the local authorities and the overcoming of last year’s obstacles and difficulties, hopefully the joint program will be successful as expected.
