Ms. Le Thi Thuy, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Government, has been appointed as the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union.

The Vietnam Women's Union held a conference on the afternoon of March 3rd to implement the Politburo's decision on personnel matters.

Accordingly, the Politburo decided that Ms. Le Thi Thuy, a member of the Central Committee of the Party, would cease to be a member of the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee, and would no longer hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Government.

The Politburo has assigned and appointed Ms. Le Thi Thuy to participate in the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and central mass organizations.

Ms. Le Thi Thuy will be nominated for election to the Executive Committee, the Presidium, and to hold the position of President of the Vietnam Women's Union Central Committee.

Ms. Le Thi Thuy was born in 1964; her hometown is Nghe An province; her professional qualifications include a Master's degree in Law and a Bachelor's degree in Law.

She was a member of the Central Committee of the Party for the 12th, 13th, and 14th terms.

She previously worked in Nghe An province, holding positions such as Deputy Chief Inspector of the province, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hung Nguyen District Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee, Chief Inspector of the province, and Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee.

From November 2010, she worked at central government agencies, successively holding the positions of Deputy Inspector General of the Government and Deputy Head of the Central Inspection Committee. Then, in July 2019, she was transferred to a local position as Secretary of the Party Committee of Ha Nam Province (formerly).

On February 3, 2025, the Politburo decided to establish the Party Committee of the Government and determined the functions, tasks, and organizational structure of the Government Party Committee. Ms. Le Thi Thuy was appointed to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee.

The current leadership of the Vietnam Women's Union Central Committee includes Vice Presidents Tran Lan Phuong, Nguyen Thi Minh Huong, and Nguyen Thi Thu Hien.

Speaking at the decision-awarding ceremony, the Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Bui Thi Minh Hoai, remarked that Ms. Le Thi Thuy is a well-trained cadre with strong political acumen, a high sense of responsibility, and a rich work history in many positions, fields, and localities, from the central to local levels. Ms. Le Thi Thuy has held important leadership positions, including head of provincial Party committees and leaders of Party committees directly under the Central Committee, possessing extensive experience in Party building and the construction of the political system.

Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai expressed her confidence that in her new position, Ms. Le Thi Thuy will quickly grasp the work situation, utilize her practical experience and capabilities, inherit and build upon the valuable achievements and experiences of previous generations of leaders of the Vietnam Women's Union Central Committee, and continue to work together with the Central Committee in unity to lead the Central Committee to achieve many new accomplishments and successfully complete its tasks.

The Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front requested that Ms. Le Thi Thuy focus on directing the work of propaganda, mobilization, and encouragement of members and women to actively participate in the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; and to effectively lead the organization of the 14th National Congress of Women's Representatives in the near future.

The Central Committee of the Women's Union needs to continue to thoroughly understand and effectively implement the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party and other resolutions of the Central Committee to further promote the traditions, spirit of solidarity, creativity, proactive integration, and sense of ownership of all strata of women; and build a strong Women's Union organization.

In particular, the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front noted the need to continue innovating the content and methods of operation, further promoting the role of the Association in social supervision and criticism, and participating in building the Party and the political system; effectively implementing patriotic emulation movements, arousing the aspirations of women to contribute and create; supporting women's comprehensive development, and building prosperous, happy, civilized, and progressive Vietnamese families.

In her acceptance speech, Le Thi Thuy, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, stated that she deeply understands that being assigned this new task by the Politburo is a great honor for her, but also a heavy responsibility before the Politburo, the Secretariat, the General Secretary, key leaders of the Party, the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, central mass organizations, the Party Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, and the organization and movement of Vietnamese women.

As the Party Committee Secretary, she pledged to do her utmost, uphold the spirit of pioneering and exemplary conduct, maintain the Party's principles, unite with the Party Committee to lead the Association and its cadres and members; and inherit and develop the traditions and achievements attained over the past nearly 96 years of the Association.

She affirmed that she would persevere with the motto "wherever there are women, there are Women's Union activities," continue to innovate, elevate her role further, and make worthy contributions to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party and the resolutions and conclusions of the Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat, joining the whole country in entering an era of strong development, prosperity, civilization, and happiness for the nation.
