The Workshop adopted the summation report of the implementation of the Action Plan to 2005, goals and tasks of the Action Plan from 2006-1010 and the report of the survey on gender equality in
The summation report of the implementation of the Action Plan to 2005 presented by Mr. Pham Quang Trung, Vice Minister of Investment and Planning, indicated that for the past 5 years, 10/22 targets have been reached and surpassed. Particularly, targets on job creation for women labor, increasing ratio of using rural women labor’s time, illiteracy alleviation for women, reducing the rate of maternal death, female involvement in the People’s Council at the district/commune level have been strongly surpassed.
To continue to implement and accomplish the Strategy by 2010, the National Committee for the Advancement of Vietnamese Women and the Ministry of Investment and Planning outlined guidelines, goals and tasks of the Action Plan for the advancement of women from 2006-2010 with 5 specific goals, 36 main targets and 18 measures.
At the Workshop, 6 speeches representing 12 Ministries, Sectors, Provinces, and Cities suggested experiences, measures to implement the rest targets in the next 5 years, Society Science Institution and World Bank reported the survey on gender equality in
