Nguyen Thi Thu Hien elected Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union

On January 5th, at the 8th session of the 13th Vietnam Women’s Union’s Central Executive Committee, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien – Member of VWU Presidium and Director General of Central VWU’s Administration Department - was elected VWU Vice President.

The event was held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and was attended by Mr. Pham Tat Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee Commission of Mass Mobilization.

At the meeting, 100% of the VWU Central Executive Committee members unanimously voted to elect 1 additional VWU Vice President and 2 additional members of the 13th Central Executive Committee for the 2022-2027 term because some members have been transferred to other jobs.

As the result, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien – Central VWU’s Presidium member and Director General of Administration Department -  was elected VWU Vice President. Two new elected members of the 13th Executive Committee are:

(1) Ms. Nguyễn Thị Thu Hiền, Colonel, Head of Women Affairs Unit of the Army.

(2) Ms. Hoang Le Quyen, Deputy CEO of Hoa Binh Vietnam Tourism Joint Stock Company, CEO of Hoa Binh Ham Ninh Joint Stock Company.

Thus, after the election, the number of VWU Vice Presidents reached 5, ensuring the quota number according to the personnel plan approved by the National Women's Congress; The number of the VWU Central Executive Committee members is 160/163; The remaining 3 members will be elected as soon as there are qualified personnel.

The new VWU Vice President Nguyen Thi Thu Hien was born on November 13, 1976 in Thai Binh Province. She has been working at the VWU for 23 years. From 2012 until now, she is VWU’s Presidium member and hold different positions at Central VWU as Director General of Planning and Finance Department, Director General of Tinh Thuong Microfinance Institution (TYM), and Director General of Administration Department.
