Quang tri Women’s Union:

Women’s Union of Quang Tri Province welcomed the delegation of Committee for Women’s Development, the Agency for Sustainable Society and Human Development of Mukdahan province, Thailand to visit and exchange working experiences at Quang Tri province from 16^th to 18^th July 2009.

During 3 days of visit, the delegation visited historical sites and some small enterprises owned by women at Dong Ha city and exchanged working experiences with Women’s Union of Quang Tri province.

At the exchanges, Presidents of the two women’s organizations exchanged advantages as well as difficulties and shared experiences in the practical working condition.

Mr. Sariat Siasacun, President of the Committee for Women’s Development of Mukdahan province, Thailand presented in brief activities and remarkable achievements of the provincial women’s union, especially activities and policies for the elderly, prevention of social evils, rehabilitation education help for young girls engaged in social evils.

On behalf of the Quang tri province Women’s Union, Mrs. Le Thi Sam, President of the provincial women’s union highlighted the role of cadres and members of Quang Tri Women’s Union into the development of the province and exchanged working experiences, especially in the field of poverty alleviation, economic development and women and children’s care…..

The visit of the delegation from Committee for Women’s Development and the Agency for Sustainable Society and Human Development of Mukdahan province, Thailand thus partly contributed to the friendship and solidarity between women and the people of the two countries of Vietnam – Thailand.
