Special programme on Vietnam-Laos women televised live

The TV programme, held by the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU), the Laos Women's Union and the Vietnam Television o­n the occasion of the 76th founding day of the VWU. It was also a function to celebrate, in 2007, the 45^th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Laos and the 30^th signing anniversary of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Co-operation Treaty.

The programme featured the strong attachment between the Vietnamese and Lao women, as well as their contributions to maintaining and developing the traditional friendship and special solidarities between the two nations.

Participants at the Hanoi side included Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung, Vice President Truong My Hoa, officials from the Vietnam Fatherland Front, ministries, departments and organisations, and the Lao Ambassador to Vietnam, Bounthone Sengkhammy.

Lao Permanent Deputy PM Somsavath Lengsavad together with various Lao government and state officials, and the Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos, Nguyen Huu Quang, attended the Vientiane side./.
