Swedish Ambassador honoured with women insignia

During her working term in Vietnam, the Ambassador gave constant support to the VWU’s efforts to promote gender equality and incorporate the issue of gender equality into different support programmes conducted in Vietnam by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).

Ms Lindstedt has also actively contributed to the implementation of the VWU's project o­n "Promoting gender equality and economic empowerment for women in Vietnam."

At present, the Swedish Embassy is assisting the VWU with a project o­n "Institutional development for promoting rural women entrepreneurs in Vietnam".

Over the past 15 years, the Swedish Government has provided 17 million SEK in support of programmes o­n the improvement of Vietnamese women's lives.
