Training of Trainers (TOT) in a Aquaculture Project

Attending the training were 40 Women’s Union staff and women members of agriculture experience, aquaculture involvement, and communication, instruction and people mobilization skills from the 16 communes of 8 districts of 4 provinces of Ha Tay, Hai Duong, Bac Ninh and Thai Binh. The training’s various contents were designed to train farmers to be aquaculture trainers for the poor women in VAC economic model (a combined system of gardening, fish rearing and husbandry).
Trainees were not only provided with VAC knowledge (through the facilitation of experienced professors from the Agriculture University No. 1 and the Aquaculture Research Institute No. 1) but also gender knowledge related to aquaculture. They learnt how to design a training session, practiced the adult-training skills and had a field trip to the Aquaculture Research Institute No. 1.
