Training on international integration

This is a training aimed at updating information and enhancing knowledge for staff of the Central Women’s Union on issues emerging in the process of international integration of Vietnam in the new phase.

In her opening address, Vice President Nguyen Phuong Minh said that it is vitally important to update information and knowledge and enhance awareness o­n international integration for staff of the Central Women’s Union in the field of foreign affairs as well as to promote their professional skills, contributing to the national development in general and women’s advancement in particular in international integration process.

 

At the training, learners were introduced about foreign policy of the Party, the integration process into World Trade Organisation (WTO) and the success in hosting APEC in Vietnam by experts from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Trade. In addition, they were informed of the result of APEC Women Leaders’ Network Meeting (WLN) hosted by Vietnam Women’s Union. Learners were also informed of the interest of WTO integration for SMEs, especially women-owned SMEs by Mme. Pham Chi Lan, former Vice President cum General Secretary of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), former special consultant o­n economies for Prime Minister.

 

In particular, at this training, Dr. Ngo Thanh Nhan, Professor of New York University shared with participants about an issue of great concern: “Globalisation from Western perspective”.
