Various saving activities for poor women
During 1st half of 2009, WU of Dong Son district launched the 2nd time of saving movement to help poor women.
Specifically, WU members in rural area save from 1,000VND/day while women entrepreneurs and workers save 5,000VND/day. Every month, each member take one day saving to help poor and disable women, women in difficulties and orphans.
To date, 20,017 members of 21/21 communes, towns practise savings. 100% of women units and groups and Executive Committee Board of the commune WU have piggy banks and agreed to open it in October 20 (the Birthday of VWU). 112 women groups advanced money for members to buy clay pigs. Besides, 100% of small traders of Rung Thong town have plastic pigs in their shops. The market management also distributed 400 plastic pigs to poor women saler to do the savings.
