Vice President of Vietnam Women Union attends 92nd CEDAW Committee Session
From 1–3 February 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Huong, Vice President of the Viet Nam Women’s Union (VWU), participated in Viet Nam-related meetings during the 92nd session of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW).
VWU Vice President Nguyen Thi Minh Huong speaks at the meeting On 2 February, at the CEDAW Committee’s meeting with non-governmental organizations, the VWU presented its report contributing to the review of Viet Nam’s ninth periodic report. The report provided an independent perspective to support the constructive dialogue process and to assist the Committee in formulating practical and effective recommendations for Viet Nam. The VWU reaffirmed its commitment to continuing cooperation with the Government and international partners in monitoring and promoting implementation of the CEDAW Convention.
During the dialogue session with the Committee on 3 February, the Vietnamese delegation, led by Vice Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha, provided updates on the implementation of the CEDAW Convention in Viet Nam, in which, recognizing the VWU as an important partner in monitoring implementation, advancing international commitments, and promoting international cooperation.
