Vietnam and Cambodia co-operate for women development

Vietnam wants to enhance co-operation in hunger alleviation and the fight against women and children trafficking with Cambodia for the development and progress of the women of both countries.

President of the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) Ha Thi Khiet, who is also Chairwoman of the National Committee for the Advancement of Women, made the remark while receiving the delegation of Cambodia's women, led by Minister of Women's Affairs Ing Kantha Phavi in Hanoi o­n October 10.

The Cambodian Minister said she hoped that the Vietnam Committee for the Advancement of Women will work closely with Cambodia and regional countries to deal with the problem of women trafficking.


Cambodia
's women are ready to collaborate with Vietnam's women for hunger alleviation and to raise people's awareness o­n women's roles in society, she added.


Vietnam
is making a plan for the development of women which includes five targets and 28 objectives representing women's equality in many fields and drafting Laws o­n Gender Equality and Against Domestic Violence, Ms Khiet said./.
