Vietnam Women's Union inks cooperation deal with Saint Petersburg
Moscow (VNA) – A delegation of the Vietnam Women's Union led by Chairwoman Ha Thi Nga signed a cooperation agreement with the Committee for External Relations of Saint Petersburg on September 30 as part of their visit to Russia.
Under the deal, the two sides will exchange information and experience on the protection of women's rights and legitimate interests and sustainable development.
They will coordinate in organising forums, conferences, seminars, fairs, exhibitions and exchanges in the fields of common concern such as integrating gender in the implementation of sustainable development goals, women in leadership and management, foreign affairs, digital technology application, green economic development, environmental protection, climate change response, and preservation and promotion of ethnic cultural identity.

At the working session, Nga and Chairman Evgeny Grigoriev of the Saint Petersburg committee highlighted the long-standing friendship between Russia and Vietnam, and between Saint Petersburg and Vietnamese organisations and localities.
The city's leaders always treasure relations with Vietnam and create favourable conditions for Vietnamese to study and integrate into the local society, said Evgeny Grigoriev.

Nga expressed gratitude for Saint Petersburg's support for Vietnam during the struggles for independence in the past and for its effective cooperation with Vietnamese partners at present.
She emphasised Vietnam's progress in gender equality, especially the equal and effective participation of women in all areas of political, economic, and social life.
