VWU's Two Important Upcoming Events

In celebration of the 115th anniversary of International Women’s Day (March 8) and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, on February 27, Vietnam Women’s Union will coordinate with the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission and the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee to organize a National scientific conference on the role of the "Long-Haired Army" and the "Three Responsibilities" movement during the resistance war against the US.
The memory of a heroic era of the "Long-Haired Army" are revived through precious archival images at the Ben Tre Museum.

Additionally, the VWU will collaborate with the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to host the "Meeting with Outstanding Female Revolutionary Prisoners" on February 28.

The National scientific conference on the role of the "Long-Haired Army" and the "Three Responsibilities" movement during the resistance war against the US will be held in Ben Tre, with a virtual connection to the 63 provincial and municipal women's unions nationwide on the morning of February 27, 2025. The event will be co-chaired by VWU President, the leaders from the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commision, and the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee.

The "Three Responsibilities" movement with its widespread influence of a bygone era

Approximately 300 delegates are expected to attend the conference in Ben Tre, including representatives from the Party and State; the VWU's former leaders (Southern region); central ministries, agencies, and organizations; the VWUs at provincal level; leaders of agencies in Ben Tre; former members of the "Long-Haired Army"; scholars and scientists; national and local media representatives. Additionally, delegates from the 63 provincial and municipal VWUs will participate in the online meeting, with Hanoi and Ben Tre further extending the event to the district level.

The "Meeting with Outstanding Female Revolutionary Prisoners" will be held on the morning of February 28 at the Ho Chi Minh City Hall, welcoming 100 special guests and 300 distinguished female revolutionary prisoners from Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho City, and the Southeastern and Southwestern provinces. These two major events, marking the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8) and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, serve as a meaningful political movement among women of all generations. They aim to arouse national pride, uphold the heroic revolutionary traditions, and express deep gratitude to those who sacrificed for national liberation, development, and defense.
