VWU launched the competition "Vietnamese women's examples of self-confidence, self-esteem, faithfulness and resourcefulness"
The competition is to widely communicate among WU cadres, members and the masses about the moral qualities of the Vietnamese women in the national industrialization and modernization period as a practical way to study and follow the moral example of President Ho Chi Minh. Through the competition, the organizers expect to find out and recognize the exemplary women with moral qualities "Self-confidence, self-esteem, faithfulness, resourcefulness", encouraging women of all strata in the whole country to refine their moral qualities to meet the requirements of the national industrialization and modernization and practically implement the Direction No. 03-CT/T.U of the Political Bureau on Strengthening the study and following of the moral example of President Ho Chi Minh.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, VWU Vice President Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tuyet said that,given women's role as “mother and the first teacher of mankind", it is important at any time to inform and inspire women to refine their moral qualities.Accordingly, the competition is one of practical activities to acknowledge good persons and good examples, helping to make "the good bloom like spring flowers" and “our people become a forest full of beautiful flowers" as President Ho Chi Minh said about political education task.
The competition is open to all Vietnamese citizens, especially WU staff, WU members and women in general. Characters featured in the entries should be real-life exemplary women vividly imbued with the moral qualities “self-confidence, self-esteem, faithfulness and resourcefulness” of the Vietnamese women in the renovation period. At the ceremony, Deputy Editor-in-chief of Vietnam Elderly Newspaper Mr. Nguyen Duy Quyen spoke highly of the competition and affirmed that his Newspaper would cooperate enthusiastically with Vietnam Women’s Union, creating favorable conditions for editors, journalists, collaborators and members of the Association of the Elderly in the whole country to actively respond to the competition by finding out exemplary women and sending their entries.
On behalf of the WU staff and members, President of Nghe An Provincial Women's Union Mrs. Le Thi Tam in a responding remark expressed her commitment to implement the competition successfully. She believed the competition would be attractive to people and women nationwide, generating a momentum for the emulation movement in the WU system and women strata and promoting women’s role in the national construction and defense.
