The Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) with the support by the UN Women Vietnam will organize the “International Forum on Women, Peace and Development” from October 6th-7th, 2015 at the Center for Women and Development, Hanoi, Vietnam on the occasion of 85th anniversary of the Union’s foundation, 70th anniversary of the UN, 70th anniversary of the Women’s International Democratic Federation, and the review of the implementation of the Beijing Declaration (Beijing + 20) and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

In order to gain more information about overseas Vietnamese women’s organizations and make recommendations on promoting support for overseas Vietnamese women to the Party and the State of Vietnam as well as to strengthen cooperation and relations with women and people of other countries, a VWU delegation, led by President Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa, paid a working visit to Germany, Poland and Ukraine from October 14th-23rd, 2013.

At the invitation of Hampyeong county, Jeollanam district, Korea, the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) sent a delegation, led by Vice President Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, to attend the program "Performances for Vietnamese Community in Korea" from 23 - 27 October, 2013.

As a member of the ASEAN Confederation of Women's Organizations (ACWO), VWU sent a delegation led by Vice President Nguyen Thi Thu Ha to the ACWO Board Meeting and Regional Workshop, held by ACWO Incumbent President - National Council of Women's Organizations, Malaysia (NCWO) - in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) from October 30th to November 1st, 2013.

In order to share experience and promote cooperation among Vietnamese and international agencies working on water and sanitation, on May 15th 2013 the Vietnam Women’s Union organized the workshop “The role of Vietnam Women’s Union in rural water and sanitation” chaired by the VWU First Vice-President Ms. Hoang Thi Ai Nhien.

Formerly known as “the Affectionate Fund”, the Tinh Thuong Microfinance Institution (TYM) under the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) has been providing support to disadvantaged women for the last two decades. Setting an example as the first microfinance practitioner in Vietnam, TYM always operates with the noble social mission of improving living conditions and enhancing the social status of women in families and society. At the same time, TYM continuously engages in efforts to accomplish tasks assigned by the VWU.

In the afternoon of July 2nd 2012, The Central Vietnam Women's Union held a ceremony to launch the competition "Vietnamese women's examples of self-confidence, self-esteem, faithfulness and resourcefulness".

Besides active responses to the Special emulation program named “Building affection houses for for poor, single, disabled and difficult women and presenting scholarships to difficult students who are children of soldiers working in border the boundary, and islands areas with and achieve good studying results despite difficulties”, provincial Women’s Unions in the whole country have also organized diversified and practical activities to welcome celebrate the 11th National Women’s Congress.

In the morning of 12th March 2012, the Opening Ceremony of the 11th National Women's Congress was solemnly organized at Hanoi Friendship Cultural Palace.
