15th Women's Global Summit

Madame Ha Thi Khiet, Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam Women's Union, President of the National Committee for the Advancement of Women, lead a delegation that attended the 15th Women's Global Summit in Mexico from June 23rd through the 25th 2005.

The Conference was attended by more than 900 women delegates from 75 countries/nations and territories.The participants shared their experiences o­n business development and enhancing women'srole in the socio-economic development in their country.


At the Conference, Madame Ha Thi Khiet delivered a presentation "Exemplary o­n cooperation between Government and community enterprises to promote women's economic status", which confirmed that the Renovation line in Vietnam has created a driving force and a favourable legislative environment for the development of enterprises, especially women's enterprises.


The Vietnamese delegation participated in talks o­n the subject of micro-credit, household economic development, women's role in socio-economic life, the education of children and women's role in poverty alleviation and hunger elimination.


During the Conference, Madame Ha Thi Khiet had discussions, and shared experience with delegations from Mexico, Laos, Malaysia and the US and visited the Vietnam Embassy and other cultural places in Mexico City.
