Children’s paintings awarded

Twenty children’s paintings were awarded at the national art contest for children with the theme “Benevolence” by the Fine Arts and Cinematography Agency under the Ministry of Culture and Information on July 28 in Hanoi.

The main topics of the contest are about helping poor people, helping friends to school, donating bloods.


More than 3,000 entries from 50 groups, children’s houses and schools were collected across the country.


Among the 80 paintings selected for the grand final, the jury awarded national prizes for 20 best paintings including “Cuu Nguoi Bi Nan” (Rescue the People in Distress) of Nguyen Phuong Anh in Hanoi, “Giup Do Ban Den Truong” (Helping Friends Go to School) of Nguyen Thi Ha Phuong in the central province of Nghe An, “Chien tranh va nuoc mat tre tho” (War and Children’s Tears) of Phan Thi Thanh Trang in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap.


Twenty excellent drawings will be sent to the painting exhibition of ASEAN children in Singapore in September with the message “Building a Community for Human Beings”.


The painting contest is an annual event of the ASEAN Committee o­n Culture and Information (ASEAN-COCI) and is held by the Fine Arts and Cinematography Agency and the International Co-operation Department under the Ministry of Culture and Information.


This is the second time ASEAN – COCI has held this competition with the same theme for children.
