First Vice President Nguyen Thi Kim Thuy receives a delegation headed by German Secretary of State of Labor and Social Affairs

On July 9, 2009, the VWU’s First Vice President Nguyen Thi Kim Thuy with Deputy Directors of some VWU’s Departments welcomed the delegation of the German Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs led by Mr. Klaus Braundner, Secretary of State, on the occasion of their working visit to Vietnam.

At the meeting, the two sides shared concerns in terms of Vietnamese women’s role in economic and social fields, especially in education and training, hunger elimination and poverty alleviation, gender equality, hindrances for women in gender equality implementation, as well as VWU’s responsibilities and efforts in improving the social position and promoting rights of women.

On behalf of the delegation, the Secretary of State Klaus Braudner thanked VWU for its sharing and warm reception and expressed his support towards the efforts of VWU in particular and of Vietnamese women in general in the process of promoting gender equality.
