National scientific Conference on the role of the "Long-Haired Army" and the "Three Responsibilities" Movement

On February 27, the Central Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) coordinates with the Central Party Commission for Publicity, Education and Mass mobilization and the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee to organize a National scientific conference on the role of the "Long-Haired Army" and the "Three Responsibilities" Movement during the anti-US resistance war.

The conference is held in celebration of the 115th anniversary of International Women’s Day (8/3/1910 - 8/3/2025), the 1985th anniversary of Hai Ba Trung Uprising; toward the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (30/4/1975 - 30/4/2025), the 65th anniversary of the Dong Khoi Movement (17/1/1960 - 17/1/2025) in the role of “Long-Haired Army” and the 60th anniversary of the “Three Responsibilities” Movement (3/1965 - 3/2025).

The event witnesses the attendance of Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Party Commission for Publicity, Education and Mass mobilization; Ms. Truong My Hoa, former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Vice President of Viet Nam, former President of the VWU; Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, former Member of the Party Central Committee, former Vice President of Viet Nam;  Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen, Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the VWU; Ms. Do Thi Thu Thao, Permanent Vice President of the VWU; Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Huong, Vice President of the VWU; leaders of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee and approximately 300 delegates and scholars.

25 speeches by researchers and scientists from the Central and Ben Tre province presented at the event aim to share, exchange and discuss scientific research findings and historical evidence to honor and recognize the important roles and contributions of the "Long-Haired Army" and the "Three Responsibilities" Movement during the anti-US resistance war. Thereby the conference ignites the sense of pride and promotes the revolutionary heroism tradition, deepens gratitude and pays tribute to the generations of forebears who sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, building and defense of the Fatherland. At the same time, it also draws valuable lessons from experience and history to creatively apply to the women's movement and the WU's activities in the new era, the rising era of the country.
