Vietnam Women’s Union confers the Merit Medal to 8 individuals

On March 26th 2009, Mrs. H’Ngam Nie K’Dam, Vice-President of the Vietnam Women’s Union conferred the Merit Medal “For the Development of Women in Vietnam” to 8 individuals who have contributed substantially to the cause of women and children health care and health protection.

8 individuals are: Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long (Director of the HIV/AIDS prevention Department), Mr. Le Anh Tuan (Deputy Head of the Planning Division, HIV/AIDS prevention Department), Mr. Dang Quoc Viet (Director of the Health Communication and Education Center, Ministry of Health), Mrs. Nguyen Thi Lam (Vice- Director, Vietnam Nutrition Institute), Mrs. Trinh Thi Hue (former senior specialist o­n communication, Health Education Center), Mr. Nguyen Duy Khe (Director, Department of Mother and Children’s Health), Mrs. Dinh Thi Phuong Hoa (Vice- Director, Department of Mother and Children’s Health), and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Mai (senior staff, World Bank in Vietnam).

 

Making speech at the ceremony, Mrs. H’Ngam Nie K’Dam praised the achievements that 8 individuals contributed to gender equality and development of women, as well as initiatives and efforts they made to prevent HIV/AIDS – a fatal disease is threatening women seriously.
