Vietnamese Tet 2006" to feature traditional countryside culture

"Vietnamese Tet 2006," a specially cultural-commercial event featuring market days in the countryside will be held at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi from January 19-25.

Visitors to "Vietnamese Tet 2006" will have a chance to enjoy a great variety of flowers and bonsai taken from regions nationwide, such as peach blossoms from the north-western region, orchids from the south and Nhat Tan kumquat from Hanoi.

The commercial area, with over 200 booths, will offer commodities necessary for the upcoming Lunar New Year Festival, which falls o­n January 29 this year.

During the event, there will also be a sports festival which involves wrestling martial art performances, Chinese chess, human chess and folk games.

"Vietnamese Tet 2006" is being organised under the sponsorship of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee's Commission for  Ideology and Culture, the Ministry of Culture and Information, the National Committee for Physical Training and Sports, and the Hanoi People's Committee.
