Chess: Women’s team seeded 24 in world Olympiad

The women’s chess team with Hoang Thi Bao Tram, Le Thanh Tu, Nguyen Thi Thanh An and Pham Bich Ngoc, are seeded 24 at the forthcoming world championship.

The Sports Daily reported that the Vietnamese team would compete in Turin, Italy, with other 93 teams.

In the mean time, the men’s team with four international grandmasters Dao Thien Hai, Tu Hong Thong, Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son and Nguyen Anh Dung, and international master Le Quang Liem and FIDE master Dinh Duc Trong, are seeded 34 out of 130 teams.

Dang Tat Thang, who leads the team to the event, said that Vietnamese would strive to retain the result they gained in the 2004 event with the men’s team finishing 51st and the women’s team, 21st.
