Three golds for women at opening day of Southeast Asian junior contest
Vietnamese athletes won three gold, one silver and two bronze medals at the Southeast Asian junior track and field contest in Bangkok, Thailand.

The three gold medals went to Bui Thi Hien in women’s 1,500 metres, clocking 4:33.34; Bach Phuong Thao in women’s 110 metre hurdles, clocking 14.51 and Phung Thi Binh in women’s long jump with 5.68 metres.
The silver medal went to Nguyen Thi My Thoa in women’s 1,500 metres. My Thoa finished runner-up, just behind Bui Thi Hien in the event.
The two bronze medals went to Nguyen Thu Phuong in women’s long jump and Nguyen Thi Nhu Huyen in women’s 200 metres.
