Vietnamese women football team placed 35th in FIFA ranking

Viet Nam's women's national squad was ranked 35th among 129 teams in the World Football Governing Body (FIFA)'s ranking of the second quarter.

Defending World and European champions Germany still tops the FIFA Women's World Ranking, despite a challenge from the USA which is currently ranked second. There are no changes in the top four, with Norway and Brazil third and fourth respectively.

The ranking currently features 129 teams, which are evaluated according to a number of factors, including match results, home advantage, significance of match and strength of opposition. The ranking is published four times per year.

Since FIFA's rankings were introduced in 2002, Southeast Asian (SEA) Games champion Viet Nam has been among the top 50 women's teams in the world.
