Australia assists poor women in Long An province
Project "Assisting Poor Women" under the Program "Supporting Small Activities" of the Australian Government run by the Job Creation Fund for poor people (CEF) in Long An started on 5/5/2005.
The purpose of the project is to assist the poor rural women who are vulnerable to urbanization to develop household business for income generation and living standard improvement by providing them access to microcredit services. Within 1 year, the micro project of Long An CEF provides services to 720 poor women.
Long An CEF is a non-profit organization established in April 2003 with its main task to reduce poverty in Long An province. By now, Long An CEF has developed its network in 9 villages and wards involving 65 trade union units in these localities.
