VWU transfers 1st batch of signing books responding “Say NO to violence against women” to UNIFEM Hanoi
In the morning of November 14, 2008, at the United Nations Development Fund for Women’s (UNIFEM) office in Hanoi, Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) handed books of about 600,000 signatures (1st stage) of staff, members, women and the people from over 40 provinces/cities nationwide responding UNIFEM’s campaign “Say NO to violence against women” to UNIFEM. -

Violence against women is a global pandemic, in fact 1 in 3 women will experience an incident of violence in their life time would firstly like to congratulate Madame Hoa and the Vietnam Women’s Union for partnering with UNIFEM on this very important campaign. Culture exchanges with Asia – Pacific countries
The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan held a culture exchange named “Meeting the Fall Culture” on September 22. Attending this event were Ambassadors’ wives and embassies’ female staffs from 24 countries which were members of Asia – Pacific Women’s Union in Japan. -

Actionaid helps prevent trafficking in women and children
Actionaid in Vietnam, a non-governmental organization involved in poverty reduction, has offer US$ 17,300 to southern Vinh Long province to implement the second phase of the project to prevent women and children trafficking across the border. -
